Citrostar is a unit for the production of fresh squeezed orange juice (F.S.O.J.) without a need for pre-sizing. It can also process lemons and tangerines with a maximum diameter ranging between 45 and 100 mm. Juice extraction is obtained from the center of the fruit by means of centripetal compression carried out by suitable penetrating star-shaped cups. The fruit is perforated and compressed in a juice squeezing and refining cylinder, with peel separation. The cycle includes: 1. feeding and positioning of the fruit on the extraction cup, 2. closing of the fruit between the two cups, 3. jam of the fruit and push of pulp and juice in the refining cylinder, 4. extraction and refining of the juice. With a 304 stainless steel construction, this press has (1) 16 in. dia. top inlet with a 20 in. dia. flange and (12) attachment holes for raw product introduction. Product press 21 in. dia. x 47-1/2 in. H. 15-3/4 in. dia. slicing blades. Press consists of a 15 in. dia. inner screen with 1/4 in. through-holes and an outer screen with a diameter of 16 in. Juice accumulation trough: 33 in. dia. x 6 in. H. Juice exits through a 6-1/2 in. dia. PVC outlet. Pulp collects in a trough and is pushed out a 12 in. W x 3 in. H. Outlet by 6 in. W x 4 in. H. paddles. (2) Miller Power Fluid Actuators move spindle vertically. Delroyd motor drive, rebuilt in 1995 and overhauled in December 2000; drives a 9-3/4 in. dia. 3-belt pulley. Built as a 100 and converted to a 125, built for 7.5 hp motor with 100 s spindle. Rated from 1 to 12 rpm depending on the product. Welches get 20 tons per hour of concord grapes with press aid at 7 rpm. Pineapple peals 5 rpm and 10-12 ton per hour at 35% moisture removed giving you 65% dry matter. Overall Dimensions: 61 in. Received all new books and blue prints on rebuild. Beloit corp. was changed to GL&V pulp group inc. in February 2000. Customer support # 800-261-9351, 603-882-2711. Delroyd gearbox was over hauled December 2000. New pressing screens installed in 2001 - still in good shape. New Renold ajax vibrating shaker drive installed. Press was in good condition last time we used. Built as a 125, rebuilt 1996, built for 10 hp motor.
